Apple's iPhone 5 A6 Chipset Analyzed - iTechWit
Since Apple announced the iPhone 5, it has never mentioned the power of the A6 chipset it had made on the iPhone 5, all Apple keeps promising is that, it has a performance and speed that doubles that of the previous iPhone. Thanks to Anandtech who analyzed the Apple iPhone 5 A6 chipset immediately he was able to lay his hands on the handset. It was confirmed that Apple custom CPU architecture, it was revealed that the maximum clock speed on the A6 chipset is 1.2 GHz, and it includes 1GB RAM as well as a PowerVR SGX 54MP3 three-core GPU.
The analysis was compared to that of the previous iOS devices and to that of the Android runners
The Anantech guys at their analysis discovered that the browser on the iPhone 5 has a buoyant merit over its competitors. The iPhone A6 Chipset helped the new iOS to top its competitors on BrowserMark, SunSpider and Google V8 tests.
During the GPU test, Apple iPhone 5 was able to come out excellent. The A6 Power SGX 543MP3 came very close to the A5X GPU on the new iPad in terms of raw performance. Android runners won’t be able to stand the iPhone 5 GPU set; it slightly came short of the Adreno 320 in the LG Optimus G.
When the iPhone 5 performance was truly tested to that of the iPhone 4S, the A6 turn out to deliver 2x in performance just as Apple had promised.
Another discovery during the review revealed that the iPhone 5 is able to improve in performance by another 10% when not connected to any carrier network.
