Apple iPhone 5 now official, comes with 4-inch display as predicted by rumors

iPhone 5 Finally Launched!

Today is the day, the long awaited September 12, at long last, Apple officially announced the sixth generation iPhone it called the iPhone 5. The superphone is from combination of glass and aluminum, it comes 18% thinner than its predecessor, iPhone 4S, the supposed iPhone 5, it measures 7.6mm.

Just like the noise was during the time of rumor, the new phone arrives with a Retina 4-inch display that has a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels, amounting to adding a fifth row of icons on the home screen.

It will be featuring LTE, HSPA+ as well as DC-HSDPA, and will come on carriers like AT&T, Verizon and Sprint in the US, and a number of European carriers.

The iPhone 5 Wi-Fi was also updated, now having 802.11m 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi up to 150 Mbps, and it features Apple A6 processor which is said to boast of doubling performance speed. A new battery that promises up to 8 hours over LTE accords the iPhone 5.

The camera remains the same just like in the iPhone 4S, 8MP backside illuminated with an f/2/4 aperture and 5 element lens, the camera has received the redesign since the release of the iPhone 4S.

Panorama mode which enables panoramic taking of photos on the iPhone 5 is an entirely new feature on the iPhone 5 camera, it now has power to record HD video at 1080p and improved for video stability and face detection, as well as snapping while recording video.

The enhanced front facing camera on the new iPhone is now capable of 720p. Apple has included some microphones to the handset making it having a total of three, one positioned in the front, back and bottom.

As suggested in the rumor, the Lightning connector is something new and is 80% smaller than the previous connector, don’t worry, Apple along the iPhone 5 will also be releasing and adapter to work with old accessories.

The iPhone 5 will start selling on 21st September and pre-order is to kick off on 14th September, just like we have been hearing.
